II. Admission Requirements: - Application document:
- Application (nonrefundable $70 application fee required)
- Resume/Curriculum vitae
- Personal essay
- A personal essay of 500 to 1,000 words must accompany the application. Indicate why you want to study writing at the graduate level. Describe your writing experience and your general writing and educational objectives.
- Two letters of recommendation
- Official college transcripts
- Proof of English-Language Proficiency
- TOEFL: a minimum score of 100 on the iBT or 600 on the PBT
- IELTS: 7.5 or higher
2. Portfolio- The portfolio should consist of a selection of writing samples (totaling no more than 25 double-spaced pages) that reflect your main areas of interest. You may include poems, short stories, a section of a novel, text for performance (include video, if available), creative nonfiction, or writing for new genres.
- You are welcome, but not required, to submit visual materials in support of your application, including book art, videos, CDs or DVDs. DVDs should be in NTSC format.
