Industrial Design | Admission Requirements

II. Admission Requirements:
  1. Application document: 
  • Application (nonrefundable $60 application fee required)
  • Personal statement
    • A one- to two-page essay must accompany the application. Your essay should address the major influences on your decision to pursue art, architecture, design, or writing. It should also address how you see yourself contributing to the CCA community, specifically with respect to the college's values, summarized below;
                           CCA understands the import role of artists, designers, architects, and writes in solving social,
                           cultural, environmental, and economic problems. The educational experience we provide supports
                           the following values: 
      •  Cultivating intellectual curiosity, risk taking, collaboration, innovation, compassion, and integrity
      • Fostering social justice and community engagement
      • Promoting diversity on our campus
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Official transcripts from your high school or college
  • Proof of English-Language Proficiency
    • TOEFL: a minimum score of 79 on the iBT or 550 on the PBT
    • IELTS: 6.5 or higher
       2.   Portfolio requirements:
  • An admissions portfolio should consist of 10 to 15 digital images of your best and most recent work. Transfer applicants are encouraged to submit up to 20 digital images.
  • Your portfolio should include a focused series of images that shows your current interests, and additional work that reveals an awareness of formal visual organization principles and experiences with a variety of tools, media, styles, and approaches.
  • We prefer that the majority of drawings submitted in the portfolio be derived from direct observation rather than other sources (such as photographs). Still life, landscape, figure drawings, portrait, perspective, and diagrammatic drawings are all recommended. 

III. Tuition: $18,480 per term + $1,540 per unit over 18
