Fine Arts | Admission Requirements

II. Admission Requirements:
  1. Application document: 
  • Application (nonrefundable $70 application fee required)
  • Resume/Curriculum vitae 
  • Personal essay
    • In 500 to 1,000 words, describe your work and outline your artistic and educational objectives. 
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Official college transcripts
  • Proof of English-Language Proficiency
    • TOEFL: a minimum score of 100 on the iBT or 600 on the PBT
    • IELTS: 7.5 or higher

      2.     Portfolio

  • The portfolio can include still images, time-based media, interactive media, or other creative visual pieces. It should contain a maximum of 15 JPG images (not to exceed 2MB each, or 30 MB total).
  • Videos should include one 5-minute (or shorter) preview on SlideRoom and at least two full-length projects sent separately on DVD (NTSC format only). 
          NOTE: While the Graduate Program in Fine Arts is an interdisciplinary program, the first round of  the
              admission process is made up of committees that specialize in specific areas of studio practice. Keep this
              in mind, please specify the media the best characterizes the work in your portfolio. (Ceramics, Glass,
              Interdisciplinary, Jewelry/Metal Arts, Media Arts, Painting/Drawing, Performance, Photography,
              Printmaking, Sculpture, Textiles, Wood/Furniture) 

III. Tuition: $1,285 (cost per unit)
